The demand for mobile apps is on the rise, what with new tablets, iPhones and Smartphones hitting the shelves every week. If you are a blogger and have been wondering how to make a mobile version of your blog without having to shell out any dough on a coder or app developer, then read on. MobStac has a solution that promises to set up a ‘mobile-friendly blog in minutes’. We do not know if the exercise is ‘faster than sipping your morning cup of coffee’ as the company claims, but here’s what it entails:

How To Create Mobile Version of Blog

  1. Signup for a free account with MobStac. Alternatively, sign in using Twitter or Facebook login.
  2. You will receive a verification link to your mailing account that you need to click on to complete the verification process.
  3. Enter your blog URL and hit the ‘Scan’ button.
  4. Following the scan, you will be shown various options for your blog (including blog tagline, title and so on). Once you have provided the details, you can opt for a mobile preview of your blog (small and large screen previews available).
  5. If the look satisfies you, scroll down and press ‘Okay! Take me live’ and the mobile version of your blog is done.
  6. You will be provided with an API key and your mobile blog URL. Copy them to a notepad and keep the info handy because you will need it to set up redirection using Mobstac plugin.

If you use WordPress, you can redirect all your mobile readers to the MobStac page. So, users who try to access your blog using mobile devices will be redirected to the customized mobile version of your blog at MobStac. Here’s how to set up redirection using Mobstac plugin:

  1. Download the MobStac WordPress plugin.
  2. Login to your WordPress admin account. Go to Plugins.
  3. Next, click ‘Add New’, and then choose the downloaded zip file. Activate the plugin.
  4. You are almost done. Go to Plugins > MobStac Configuration. Remember the details you copied on to your notepad? Enter those details (API key and your mobile blog URL) in their respective fields and save the changes. You are ready to go.
