HP Released HP Touchsmart TM2 Convertible Notebook, Touchsmart 310 and HP Omni100 Desktop Along With HP TouchSmart Apps Center

HP has released three new desktop PCs, namely the HP TouchSmart TM2 convertible notebook, the TouchSmart 310 and the HP Omni100 desktop. We will get into the details in a while. But before that, we should also add, the company has unveiled the HP TouchSmart Apps Centre for one-touch access to free and subscription-based applications. Whew! Now, to the desktops.

HP TouchSmart 310 Desktop PC

This PC model reportedly features the most advanced version of the company’s exclusive TouchSmart software. It is touted as an ‘all-in-one’ based on the AMD Athlon II 240e dual-core of 2.8 GHz. It comes with with a 4GB RAM and an HDD of 1TB, besides a TV tuner, a DVD burner and multi-touch capability. The 20-inch HD display of the HP TouchSmart 310 sits on a pedestal base that tilts up to 30 degrees. Priced at $699.99, the model will start shipping on September 22.

HP TouchSmart tm2 Notebook PC

The convertible HP TouchSmart tm2 notebook PC includes updated TouchSmart Mobile 2.0 software. Similar to the interface on the HP TouchSmart desktop PC, the software allows users to drag multimedia content to use the notebook’s desktop like a personal canvas and access applications through a carousel view. The tm2 features many of the same touch applications as the TouchSmart desktop PC and includes DigiFish Dolphin, a screensaver that recreates an interactive ocean environment. This model features a capacitive multitouch, 12.1-inch diagonal, LED BrightView touchscreen display and provides a full notebook PC experience with Intel Core i3 and i5 processors and AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5450 switchable graphics. The notebook PC starts at $829.99 and is planned to be available October 27.

HP Omni100 All-in-One Computer

This model also boasts an all-in-one design and reportedly offers users simple setup, a 20-inch HD display, AMD VISION technology and up to 1 TB of storage. The PC also features the latest version of HP MediaSmart software, to enable easy management of photos, videos and music. Expected to ship on September 22, the HP Omni100 desktop PC comes with a starting price of $499.99.

The new HP TouchSmart Apps Center – available via an icon on the TouchSmart Carousel – seeks to provide a one-touch access to applications from partners such as Marvel Comics and the Cartoon Network. The company informed the latest version of HP TouchSmart software transforms the desktop into a ‘Magic Canvas’ that enables users to freely drag applications, music, photos, videos and web content directly onto the desktop as ‘Magnets’. “Multilayered wallpapers bring depth and perspective to the screen, while the new ‘Carousel’ and ‘Magic Menu’ allow users to easily locate applications and content – all with the touch of a finger,” the company said. In addition to existing applications from Twitter, Hulu, Netflix, RecipeBox and the HP Music Store powered by Rhapsody, the software also features a built-for-touch Facebook application. The also includes a range of touch-enabled games.
