Lenovo has announced the new ThinkPad Edge 11-inch laptop, the smallest and lightest (weighing less than 3 pounds) member of the ThinkPad Edge family. Created for small-to-medium businesses (SMB), the laptop packs portability and performance into a small form factor PC. Models start at $449. That’s a plus.

The ThinkPad Edge 11-inch laptop offers the choice of Intel Core/Pentium or AMD Vision Pro Athlon ultra low voltage processors, with up to seven hours of battery life. Using optional 3G or 4G/WiMAX3 with Qualcomm Gobi technology, users can connect to wireless hot spots through Wi-fi or roam. The laptop comes equipped with choices of business-class versions of the Windows 7 operating system.

Other notable features include three USBs and a 4-in-1 media card reader. Users can further expand with the optional Lenovo USB Power Hub, which combines a 65 watt AC adapter with four USBs to simultaneously charge the laptop and connect and charge other devices. The 1.1 inch thin device also includes a standard low light sensitive webcamera and also features:

  • Spill-proof ThinkPad keyboard
  • 11.6 inch screen to work on office documents, presentations and even connect to a TV
  • HDMI video port

The ThinkPad Edge 11-inch laptop is available immediately through business partners. The device ships in three color choices including Midnight Black Glossy, Midnight Black Smooth and Heatwave Red Glossy. The Lenovo USB Power Hub is also available now for $74.99.
