Gaming is becoming more popular each day, and for gamers that don’t want to disconnect a great gaming laptop is a must. Below is our list of the top 5 gaming laptops for 2011:

Alienware M11x

Not only is this laptop listed as one of the best gaming laptops of the year, but is has also been listed on numerous other sties as one of the best laptops 2011 has to offer. This Alienware laptop still sports the same industrialized design associated with the brand, but has been completely revamped to offer a great gaming experience. This laptop is inexpensive, has a good battery life, NVIDIA graphics, and a great gaming card.

AVADirect Clevo X7200

The AVADirect Clevo has the fastest hardware of any other gaming computer. Not only does it rock out a hex-core processor, but also the duel NVIDIA GPUs. For those who are really into adding on great specs to their laptops to create the ultimate gaming machine, the AVADirect Clevo X7200 is the laptop for them. Buyers should be aware though, this laptop takes the number 2 spot for two distinct reasons: size and battery life. It’s a heavy and cumbersome laptop to carry around, and it has a terrible battery life.

Dell XPS 15

For the price, the Dell XPS 15 is a great little laptop for gamers. Not only does the screen have 1080p resolution, but it also has the first HD webcam ever to be introduced on a laptop. The laptop also features NVIDIA GeForce GT 420M graphics and Optimus technology. In spite of all these great features, the Dell has draw backs similar to the AVADirect: it’s heavy and has a poor battery life.

ASUS U41JF-A1

For under $1,000, this is one heck of a gaming laptop. The best feature of the laptop, in addition to its power, is its battery life. You can literally run it all day allowing you to remain mobile and game regardless of whether you are in the airport or in your hotel room.

Sony VAIO VPC-Z1390X

Although this Sony VAIO has a steep price tag with factory models costing around $3,800, it is by far the best ultra-portable gaming laptop on the market. The laptop is super light and has a great, high resolution display, but the battery life isn’t exactly up to par.

Caveat emptor, but if you’re in the market for a top-rated gaming laptop you won’t beat these choices.
