Western Digital’s WD TV Live and WD TV Live Plus are popular media streaming units. Anything new here? Apparently yes. Their functionality is now improved in line with users’ expectations with an update for Facebook users enabling them to:

  • Connect with family and friends through Facebook
  • Upload photos and videos,
  • Share their status
  • View their wall
  • Get latest updates on News Feed and other entertainment options

… all through their HDTV at home!

In addition, new features for the WD TV Live and WD TV Live Plus media players include:

  • Deezer: a personalized on-demand music service;
  • Flingo: free internet television from leading studios, TV networks, and video websites;
  • AccuWeather.com: a weather forecasting service; and,

Another interesting piece of news is on the hardware side with these units now being enabled to accept USB wireless keyboards through USB dongle enabling Facebook and Youtube apps.

The updates are available for free and can be downloaded and installed easily to enhance and increase functionality of these WD media streamers. It is obvious that WD seriously listens to customers’ feedbacks and suggestions as borne out by these developments.
