It looks like the MobileMe service might be getting a free version. There are lot of rumors that the Free Service of MobileMe would be announced at the WWDC. 9to5mac reports that the MobileMe preference panel shows “Full Member” which tips us that there would be a Free version coming very soon. Currently MobileMe is charging between $99 and $149 a year for the services. For those of you who do not know about MobileMe, it is a service from Apple that pushes email, contacts and calendar events over the air to all your iDevices. So your iPhone, iPad, Mac and PC stay in perfect sync.

Keeping the WWDC, iPhone HD/4G and the iPhone OS 4.0 in mind, it looks like a powerful version of the MobileMe would be announced and the current version might be available to the users for FREE. There are also many other services that offer similar features for a lower price. So to compete with them Apple should be taking a move like this by providing the basic features for free and advanced features at a price.

There are also many users who have seen the change to “Full Member” for their account, which clearly indicates that a “Free Member” account might be announced very soon. Stay tuned to TechHail to hear more updates.
