Indian Govt Withdraws Ban On Bulk SMS and MMS

Here is a very good news for all those mobile users in India as the Govt of India has lifted the ban on bulk SMS and MMS. The Government of India has withdrawn the ban on sending Short Message Service (SMS) and Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) across the country with immediate effect, Thursday 30th August. Earlier, the Indian Govt has set a limit to send bulk SMS and MMS across the country for 15 days starting from August 17.

The Indian Government on August 23 has increased the limit of sending SMS and MMS across the country from 5 to 20 and today the Indian Govt has completely removed the cap on bulk SMS and MMS. Indian mobile users can now send more than 25KB of data through their mobile phones. The Indian Government has earlier imposed a ban on bulk SMS and MMS to check spread of rumors related to the violence in Assam.
