Rdio – Unlimited Music Streaming From Computer and Mobile Even When Offline

Janus Friis and Niklas Zennström, the founders of Skype and Kazaa announced about their new service called Rdio. Rdio is a music streaming service which allows you to stream your favorite music both on your computer and mobile. Rdio will be open to the public this week in an invitation-only preview and would be availabile later this year. Rdio allows users to share their music with friends and also allows you to follow your friends to see what they are listening to.

Rdio will be totally a subscription based service with $9.99 to stream music on Computers and Mobile devices, $4.99 to stream only on computers. They has already developed applications for the iPhone and BlackBerry with an Android version coming soon. Apart from streaming the Rdio music, users can also use a tool to scan their local music libraries to stream them anywhere. Mentioning that Rdio won’t always require an Internet connection to listen to music means that you will be able to sync music to mobile devices for offline access.
