Cydia Acquires Rock Your Phone, Becomes The Largest Independent iOS App Store

SaurikIT, the developers of Cydia, has acquired Rock Your Phone, a provider of third-party mobile software to smartphones. Rock Your Phone has informed through an official statement that over the next few days the company will be moving all its products, users and licences over to Cydia Store.

Following this acquisition, company’s customers will retain their app licences and be able to install them through Cydia. For this customers will have you use their Google or Facebook account to login to Cydia store, and licences will transfer automatically. The company specifically noted that “if you’ve changed devices in the last day or two, you can simply type in your RockID and your licences will transfer over.

In its 18-month existence, the platform earned over $3.3m. With 124 developers in 19 countries, its app store sold 500,000 app licences in that period. The terms of the deal has not been disclosed.
