Inkstone Software has launched its MegaReader App, a customisable iPhone eBook reading app. The MegaReader app has been designed to tap into book catalogues such as Feedbooks, Project Gutenberg, Baen Free Books, Smashwords, and the Internet Archive. In effect, it gives users access to over 1.8 million free books on the internet ranging from classic literature to contemporary writing. Books can be downloaded to MegaReader over Wi-fi and can be read on-the-go without the need for an internet connection. DRM-free eBooks can also be imported over Wi-fi.

Inkstone touts its personalisation feature as one that will set this app apart from its competitors. The app allows users to choose from a range for colour schemes, or even make one’s own. In addition, there are 23 fonts, a variety of font sizes, margin widths, line spacing, and text justification to choose from. Other features include portrait or landscape modes and a built-in speed reading test to calculate time to complete a chapter. Books have been categorised for better navigation. The app is preloaded with 22 books. MegaReader also works with cataloguing apps iBookshelf and MyLibrary.
