Wow, here is yet another good news from the iPhone Dev-Team. The iPhone Dev-Team has showed off a new video that confirms the iOS 4.1 jailbreak on iPod Touch 4G. The iPhone Dev-Team has used the recently discovered SHAtter exploit with the PwnageTool to jailbreak the iPod Touch 4G on iOS 4.1. Though everything seems to be working fine the iPhone Dev-Team might take sometime before you can download SHAtter tool to jailbreak iPod Touch 4G and iPhone 4. Once the updated PwnageTool is released you can use it to jailbreak iPhone 4 by preserving the old baseband for unlock with ultrasn0w. We already know that Apple has closed the exploit used by Jailbreakme and the Dev-Team is using the SHAtter exploit which was found by pod2g a few months after @p0sixninja of the Chronic Dev Team discovered the crash.

So if you are one of those who have got the new iPod touch 4G or other latest device then you can wait for some more days before the updated PwnageTool will be available for download. The iPhone Dev-Team have put @pod2g’s exploit into a beta version of PwnageTool to test it and the SHAtter exploit was enough to convince the iPod touch 4G to restore to the custom IPSW. This means that the iPhone Dev-Team has got little work to do before they make the updated PwnageTool with SHAtter exploit available for download.

The iPhone Dev-Team has mentioned that as the current SHAtter exploit is a low-level BootROM exploit it will also be available in other tools like GreenPois0n. So if you are a iPhone 4 owner you can use PwnageTool to preserve your baseband or alternatively you can also go for greeenpois0n.
