If you have updated your iPhone or iPod Touch to the latest iOS 4, the you can use the updated Redsn0w to jailbreak your iDevice. The iPhone Dev-team has updated redsn0w jailbreaking tool to redSn0w 0.9.5 b5-4 which can be used to jailbreak iOS 4 final on iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G. RedSn0w 0.9.5 b5-4 can also hacktivate iPhone 3G on iOS 4.

Do remember that redsn0w is just an unlocking tool and if you are looking for unlocking iPhone you can use ultrasn0w. Redsn0w 0.9.5 is available for both Windows and Mac. Redsn0w also gives you the options to enable multitasking and background wallpapers on iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G.

Redsn0w beta has been updated to hacktivate iOS 4.0 for iPhone 3G (in addition to jailbreaking the iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G). For now, the redsn0w beta release supports only the iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G at today’s iOS 4. It’s still a beta, so you’ll need to let Cydia reorganize, reload, and update after using redsn0w.
