The iPhone Dev-Team has finally released the RedSn0w 0.9 Final. The team has released the beta version of redsn0w a weeks back and now got redsn0w 0.9 out of beta. The final version of redsn0w supports the iPod touch 3G as well as IPCC tethering. For those of you who are hearing about redsn0w for the first time, it is a cross-platform jailbreaking, unlocking and customizing tool for iPhone and iPod Touch.

Redsn0w is a jailbreaking tool similar to other popular tools like PwnageTool, blackra1n and sn0wbreeze. Apart from jailbreaking and unlocking, redsn0w offers customizations which include boot logos, recovery logos, and “verbose” boot. The other good thing is that redsn0w is a standalone program that doesn’t use iTunes as no custom IPSW’s are involved. You can use redsn0w to jailbreak iPhone 3GS/3G/2G and iPod touch 3G/2G/1G. But do remember that if you have a late-model iPhone 3GS, or if you have an iPod Touch 2G whose serial number begins with “MC”, or any iPod Touch 3G, you can use redsn0w to jailbreak but you are currently restricted to “tethered” rebooting.

The latest version of redsn0w supports IPCC tethering hack. IPCC tethering hack allows you to install cellphone Carrier Bundles that aren’t officially signed by Apple. This allows you to install a Carrier Bundle that lets you to use your iPhone for sending MMS or Internet Tethering.
