Pictional has released TrueHDR 2.0, an update to the TrueHDR iPhone app. The app is aimed at enabling you to use your iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS to create full-resolution high dynamic range (HDR) pictures. The app claims to be particularly effective in capturing enhanced details in the shadows and sun, and comes with support for iPhone 4 and 3GS, including back and front cameras.

The app’s new Rapid Autocapture mode reportedly makes it easy to take HDR pictures, and its new SemiAuto mode offers better control to choose optimised exposure points. Users can share their pictures from within the app using Facebook, Twitter, or e-mail. With support for the front facing camera, users can now take HDR self-portraits.

TrueHDR is suitable for photo buffs. The best feature is the app allows you to take two pictures at different exposures, and then picks the best features from each shot to create a merged image that is vivid and captures details in both the shadows and sun.

Priced at $1.99, TrueHDR 2.0 is available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Photography category. The app comes with language support for US English and Chinese.
