Verizon iPhone Media Event Today at 11.00 AM EST

Finally, Verizon has laid to rest rumors circulating these past few weeks about introduction of the iPhone on its networks. It has formally announced a special media event for the press on Tuesday to launch the CDMA iPhone on its networks. It will be held on 11 January 2011 at 11.00 AM EST.

Steve Jobs of Apple may show up at the event. It is eagerly expected and many hope to view it live online. Officially, this event will not be streamed live and the only way is via high profile bloggers specifically invited to the event or through the media.

There is no need for disappointment since the event can be blogged right from the spot which means you might get to view it after all. A few sites have already announced live blogging and these are : Engadget, Boy Genius Report, Slashgear, Technologizer and ArsTechnica. The keynote details can be obtained from Twitter (#verizon). It remains to be seen what special packages for users might be announced at the event and how the coming together of Apple and Verizon might be beneficial.
