HTC Hero Users Across Europe To Get Android 2.1(Eclair) Firmware Update

HTC has officially announced that all the HTC Hero users across Europe will be receiving the Android 2.1(Éclair) update by the end of this month. Android 2.1 update will be rolling to the HTC Hero users starting from this week.

Once the new firmware update to the HTC Hero is pushed users will receive a notification of this update on their HTC Hero mobiles. All you have to do is just press OK to accept the update via a data connection such as Wi-Fi, GPRS or 3G. After installing the update, you can confirm a successful update by confirming the Build number (From the Home Screen go to MENU> Settings> About Phone> Build number). The new Build number after the update will be 2.73.405.93; 2.73.405.94 (Nordic) & 2.73.405.95 (Greece/ Ireland).

So if you are a HTC Hero user and planning to update your firmware, then don’t forget to take a backup of your data before starting the update process.
