Bringing a refreshing twist into the Android market, Motorola is introducing its new Android mobile phone called the Motorola DEFY on T Mobile. Aptly named DEFY, this device has been built with a rugged and sturdy personality. Manufacturers claim it to be true to its name as it is water resistant, dust proof and super scratch resistant. To add to the already indestructible features, the Motorola DEFY comes with the famous Gorilla Glass.

Motorola DEFY Features

  • The latest version of Advanced MOTOBLUR 1.5.
  • The DEFY is said to be loaded with Android 2.1 ( which is not the latest version of Android, called Froyo). However, the Froyo update is fully expected to be part of the line very shortly.
  • The DEFY will also have Swype as the default keyboard of choice.
  • On the hardware side, apart from  this indestructible build, the DEFY comes with pretty standard features like:
  • A 3.7-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen, exactly like the DROID 2.
  • A 5 megapixel camera powered by the 800 MHz OMAP 3610 processor with an LED flash.  It is the same one found on various other Motorola devices.
  • 1.25GB on-board memory
  • A microSD slot to make up the storage capabilities on the DEFY
  • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, and GPS

So come November 3, the Android market will find a new member in its midst. Made for rough use and handling but with sophisticated features as in other Android phones, this device might be appealing to many especially since it doesn’t require delicate looking after and protection.
