Samsung Galaxy S Phones Comparison – Fascinate vs Vibrant vs Captivate vs Epic 4G

Samsung the leading handset manufacturer has made its mark in the Android market by providing the best devices ever and no doubt embedded with amazing features, Galaxy S series of Samsung was a huge success in the U.S as well as international markets. All these devices are so encaptivating that selecting the best amongst them is quite a difficult task. We tried to figure out main differences and similarities between the Galaxy S series handsets and listed the same in the article so as to make choosing the best phone easier.

With different names Samsung’s Galaxy S phones are available with slightly different features thru all major carriers – Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T. Samsung Epic 4G(Sprint), Samsung Vibrant(T-Mobile), Samsung Fascinate(Verizon) and Samsung Captivate(AT&T) are allmost similar in specifications like in-built CPU, GPU, Operating system, display resolutions, camera, accelerometer, Wi-Fi capabilities and Google voice capabilities. Running on Android 2.1 (Eclair) operating system, these devices feature a Hummingbird 1GHz CPU powered by PowerVR SGX540 GPU, 4.0 inch super AMOLED display, 5.0MP camera, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Six-axis motion sensing accelerometer and free Google voice capabilities.

Though the specifications are mostly similar, there are few features that differ in each of them. Samsung Fascinate does not have a front facing camera whereas Epic 4G, Vibrant and Captivate has an impressive front facing camera feature. Samsung vibrant does not come with an in-built Flash, but it does feature an awesome internal storage space of 16GB, wherein Samsung Captivate, Epic 4G and Fascinate incorporates in-built Flash along with 16GB, 1GB and 2GB internal storage respectively. Fascinate and Epic 4G provides support for 16GB included microSD whilst Captivate and Vibrant provides only 2GB microSD expansion. Mobile Hotspot is available only for Fascinate and Epic 4G handsets. Epic 4G features a slide QWERTY keypad stands ahead with 4G capabilities.

Samsung Fascinate, Vibrant and Captivate are priced at $199.99 wherein Epic 4G costs around $249.99 with different data plans.

    This information is incorrect. Only the Samsung epic has the front facing camera. The fascinate and epic have flash.
