WordPress is catching on fast with other mobile applications as it launches its new and updated application WordPress for Android with improvements in its media capabilities. Nokia users too can enjoy this improved application version as it is now also available in the Ovi Store. With this application, users can manage their blogs, update and write new posts and pages as well as manage comments while they are on the go.

Here’s what you can look forward to in the latest version v1.3.6 of the WordPress for Android application:

  • Multiple Media Item Sharing: Select multiple items in the Android gallery application and share them to a new post in WordPress for Android.
  • New Attached Media Display: This new feature displays images and media in a horizontally scrolling gallery view, making it much easier to view the images attached to a post.
  • YouTube Upload Fix: You can share a correctly embedded video by posting it in your blog using the YouTube application.
  • Bugs Fixed: Many other bugs have also been addressed in this release including:- Removal of the ‘read phone state’ permission when installing the application from the Android Market
    • Improved performance on the new post and new page views
    • Forms to create new blog accounts load correctly.

There is, however, one shortcoming. This application is not yet compatible with the Symbian Operating System and hence won’t work on Nokia N8, C6 and C7. Developers are working with Nokia on getting this application approved for the Symbian OS as well.
