If you have accidentally deleted some files or if you have lost your important files because of a software bug or the OS crash you can try out Recuva to recover your lost files. Recuva is a freeware Windows utility which will help you to restore files that have been accidentally deleted from your computer. Recuva recovers files that are deleted from your Windows computer, Recycle Bin, digital camera, Mobiles and MP3 players.

With the help of Recuva you can scan through your hard drives, memory cards, and USB sticks to find files and folders you’ve deleted. It also tells you in advance how likely it is that your files can be recovered. You can even recover files from your iPod, iPod Nano, or iPod Shuffle. Recuva cannot recover all files. This happens when Windows has overwritten the area where the file used to be.

While using Recuva you can go for the wizard mode which will guide you through the basic steps of recovering lost files. If you are looking for more detailed control over the process then you can try the Advanced mode. It works well in Windows 7 also.

I would appreciate this utility as it provides good features for free, but sometimes we need to recover data which can not be recovered by freeware.once i used a recovery application Stellar Phoenix Partition Recovery software for recovering my lost files on my hard drive it works well but i had paid for the software as it was not free. But i am satisfied with the working of this program for which i paid…

i knw recuva is best freeware software bt i completely agree wid marryophen dat sumtimes its hard to get data recovered using a freeware in dat case u hav to spend sum money to get a good data recovery software, i hav used one such software named kernel for fat and ntfs available at reasonable cost which fits ma pocket. one more good feature is dat u can preview d recovered files using demo version before actually making up ur mind to buy d software
