Acer has launched a special edition Ferrari-themed Acer Liquid E smartphone. Complete with the trademark red splash and the Ferrari logo at its back, this phone, with a carbon fibre body, looks dressed to bowl over any Ferrari fan. In fact, it is primarily the looks (we will get to the feature bit soon) that make this model stand apart from the previous Liquid smartphones. And because it is tagged ‘limited edition,’ be prepared to shell out a premium price of Rs. 30,000.

Designed to please a true Ferrari enthusiast, the phone comes loaded with Ferrari wallpapers, videos, tones and accessories. We said a ‘true’ Ferrari enthusiast also because when you connect to the internet, the phone automatically adds you to the company’s Twitter and Facebook pages.

Feature-wise, the phone is the same as Acer Liquid E. It runs on Android 2.1 operating system and has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8250 768 MHz processor in its heart. Connectivity features include GPRS, Bluetooth 2.0, EDGE, 3G, WLAN and USB support. The model has a 5MP snapper (with 2560×1920 pixels resolution and autofocus capability). Other specs include a 3.5-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen (480×800 pixels resolutions), 5 hours of talktime, Acer UI 3.0, accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate, and proximity sensor for auto turn-off. In terms of storage, the phone has 512MB RAM, 512MB ROM of internal memory, that is expandable up to 32GB. Yes, pretty much the same features as the previous Liquid E. But, as we already warned, this model is intended to lure by its looks and have only die-hard Ferrari fans vrooming to the store for one.
