Here is some good news for iOS users as word has started trickling in on Sn0wbreeze 2.1. The developer of the iOS 4.1 jailbreak tool, iH8sn0w, has thrown in more information on his upcoming tool.

In these days of social networking, where a Tweet is as good as an official confirmation, iH8sn0w posted:

Basically, every device that runs iOS will be supported in the new release 🙂 (new bootrom or old.)

That has naturally got the jailbreaking community excited. iOS users are already counting the devices the new release will support. The list of supported devices now include:

  • iPhone 4 on iOS 4.1
  • iPhone 3GS (new and old bootrom) on iOS 4.1
  • iPhone 3G
  • iPhone 2G on iOS 3.x.x
  • iPad on iOS 3.2.2
  • Apple TV 2G on iOS 4.1
  • iPod touch 2G / 3G / 4G on iOS 4.1

For the uninitiated, Sn0wbreeze is a tool for Windows that can jailbreak iPod and iPhone. The tool can create custom firmware files that in turn allows users to upgrade their firmware with preserving baseband to unlock their iPhone with the help of the existing ultrasn0w version. iH8sn0w has not given any hint on the ETA yet. But there’s buzz that he is looking to release it after PwnageTool for Mac is released. Watch this space for more.
