Droid Eris OTA Software Upgrade With Android 2.2 Coming on July 16
Droid Eris users will soon get a OTA software upgrade that would not upgrade the handsets to Android 2.2 but does enable a bundle of OS enhancements in the handsets. This software update would be available from 16th of July and would take up to a week to reach the entire customer base.
With software version ROM: 2.37.605.4 and Radio: 2.42.01.04.27, the software updragration will be provided through Over the Air (OTA) process. Along with enhanced speed dialing capabilities, this software update including many enhancements related to Audio and video controls, text and messaging functionality. After the upgradation, Droid Eris will allow users to sync with Backup Assistant, Microsoft Exchange Active Sync and Facebook.
Improvements in Droid Eris With Firmware Upgrade
- Capabilities to sync with Backup Assistant, Active Sync and Facebook
- Enhanced and stabilized Weather app/widget
- Capabilities to pair with Jabra Bluetooth headset
- Capabilities to sync with Gmail contacts.
In order to update Eris, we have to await until 16th July.

I just got this update today. July 17th @ 12:30am. I hope it fixes the “Silent Call” bug!
I got the upgrade, but it is still version 2.1. No noticeable improvement that I can see.
I haven’t even recieved the update yet!
