If the grapevine is to be believed Google and Samsung are expected to announce the ‘Nexus Two’ on November 8 at a press event in NYC. And Android users, here’s the interesting bit: the phone will apparently ship with the next version Android 2.3, dubbed Gingerbread, and will be available via multiple carriers. Taylor Wimberly of claims to have spoken “with multiple, trusted sources familiar with the project who have shared the same story with me”.

The ‘Nexus Two’ is expected to score on hardware and with Google attending to the software bit of the phone with Gingerbread, this one’s going to be a smartphone to look forward to. What about Samsung Galaxy S stuck on Android 2.1? Well we can only hope Samsung will get them updated to Gingerbread in due course.
