Premium, on-demand music service Rhapsody is now available on the three major smartphone platforms: Apple, Android and RIM. Rhapsody publicized the launch of the service on RIM by saying “America’s hardest-working smartphone finally gets to play”.

With Rhapsody for BlackBerry, subscribers can access the music service from anywhere with a network connection. As with Rhapsody apps for Apple and Android, subscribers can enjoy their playlists from any BlackBerry smartphone and discover new music through playlists and radio stations programmed by Rhapsody’s music editors.

Presently, the Rhapsody for Blackberry application is the only one of its kind to integrate the hardware on the BlackBerry Curve (version 5.0 and above), allowing users to control volume, mute and operate media on their device. It also enables the application to be controlled via a Bluetooth headset.

Music lovers are updated with the latest charts, albums, artists, new releases as well reviews and recommendations from the editors. The streaming radio service is a treat with over 200 genres-based music stations put together by the Rhapsody in house editors.

BlackBerry users can download the application from Rhapsody.com for a 7-day trial. The app will soon be available at BlackBerry App World and other app stores as well. Subscriptions can be availed at $9.99 a month.
