RIM Releases 9670 Flip Phone On Sprint; Features full QWERTY keyboard, 2 Displays & BlackBerry 6 OS

Sprint and Research In Motion (RIM) have announced the much-anticipated BlackBerry Style 9670 smartphone, a new flip smartphone featuring a full QWERTY BlackBerry keyboard, the new BlackBerry 6 operating system and a range of advanced communications and multimedia capabilities including BBM (BlackBerry Messenger). It will be available in the US exclusively from Sprint starting on October 31.

The BlackBerry Style sports a 5MP camera with flash and support for video recording, built-in GPS for location-based apps and geo-tagging, Wi-Fi, and an expandable memory slot for up to 32GB of additional storage.

The smartphone includes an optical trackpad for fluid navigation and boasts two large displays, an external screen for quickly viewing notifications and messages, and a high-resolution internal display for convenient Web browsing and watching videos. The phone will also be available in two colors – silver (Steel Grey) and purple (Royal Purple).

The device is available now for pre-order at Sprint for $99 with new Sprint activation. The purple variant of the smartphone will be available in November.
