Apple Releases iOS 4.2 Beta 3 and iOS SDK 4.2 Beta 3 For Developers; Also Updates iTunes 10.1

iOS 4.2 is coming in November for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch. Touted to be “the world’s most advance mobile operating system,” the launch of iOS 4.2 is being eagerly anticipated by iPad owners, in particular, as the company promises they “will get to enjoy 100+ new features and innovations — including multitasking, folders, printing, and more”. Meanwhile, Apple is feverishly releasing betas of iOS 4.2 for developers to test.

We may recall, the first iOS 4.2 Beta was released on September 15, followed by the iOS 4.2 Beta 2 on September 29. On October 13, they gave developers the third Beta with a few more bug fixes. The fourth and final version is expected to be released next month. Members enrolled in the iPhone Developer Standard or Enterprise Program can access the updates by signing into Apple Developer Connection. In addition, Apple has also updated iTunes to the latest 10.1 version. Developers wanting to work with with iOS 4.2 Beta 3 will have to download the new version of iTunes. Watch this space for more.
