Many of you must have faced problems like “Error reading from file“, “Cannot copy file: Data error (cyclic redundancy check)“, “Window cannot read from this disk“, “Cannot copy file: Cannot read from the source file or disk” while trying to retrieve data from scratched CD, DVD and Blue Ray disks. But now with the help of “dvdisaster” you can retrieve the data from scratched disks. But do keep in mind that “dvdisaster” can only retrieve data from disks that are written using it and not from all the disks.

So if you have got any important data better use dvdisaster to write the data to the removable disk. The main thing dvdisaster does is, it creates error correcting codes which will help you to get back the corrupted data. Error correction data can be either added to the medium or kept in separate error correction files. The good thing is that dvdisaster works at the image level so that the recovery does not depend on the file system of the medium. dvdisaster creates an error correct file from your original disc and it requires additional storage. You can actually save the error correction data on a separate media and when you have problems retrieving the data from the disk you can use it. When you have a disc with read errors, all you need to do is launch dvdisaster and create a new ISO image file from the damaged disc using the ECC file.
