After the recent release of Aperture 3, pro-level photo editing and management software, Apple has announced a patch, Aperture 3.0.1, that would address issues that troubled many users using this software. With around 29.41 MB in size and working on Mac OS X 10.5.8 or Mac OS X 10.6.2 or later, Apple’s Aperture 3.0.1 comes not only with an overall stability enhancement but also with major bugs fixes. Aperture 3.0.1 addresses issues related to face-recognition processing, importing libraries from iPhoto, importing photos from a camera, memory usage whilst processing re-touched photos and upgradation libraries from the earlier versions.

The issues related to image display, keyboard shortcuts are also resolved in this Aperture 3.0.1 patch. In addition to the bug fixes, Aperture 3.0.1 also adds-in missing Face button, capabilities to print pages possessing multiple images and metadata, abilities to access Aperture libraries on a network volume along with support for external photo editing. Disappointingly even this patch does not guarantee the memory consumption issue which occurs whilst upgrading, users may encounter memory related issues wherein the entire hard drive is completely filled-up and they might need to temporarily shift the library to an another hard drive with more space. However, all the Aperture 3 users can download the Aperture 3.0.1 from the Apple’s support site or through the Software Update.
