Motorola Droid X Wi-Fi Connectivity and Display Issues and Solutions
Droid X users are apparently grappling with an issue of inconsistent Wi-Fi connectivity. According to posts on various forums, affected Droid X users are finding it difficult to connect to the Wi-Fi router. Even if the connection to Wi-Fi has been established, there are reports of poor network performance. However a couple of workarounds have been suggested in order to fix this issue on Droid X.
- Changing the encryption from AES to TKIP in order to alleviate the problem.
- Changing router to 802.11g instead of 802.11n to decrease the number of network disconnects.
It is to be noted here that the above-mentioned fixes work well only when you are using Wi-Fi in your home territory.
Earlier Droid X users had complained about banding and flickering issues with regard to the display on their screens. However, in this case, Verizon Wireless and Motorola have issued a joint statement acknowledging the existence of this problem. According to the statement “Verizon Wireless and Motorola are aware of a very small number of DROID X units that have experienced a flickering or banding display. Motorola has resolved the issue and is continuing to ship the phones. Any consumer who experiences a flickering or banding display should contact a Motorola customer support center or Verizon Wireless”.
