Samsung has announced a new smartphone, the Wave II S8530, powered by the Bada OS. Expected to be released next month in Germany, Wave 2 is aimed at replacing the Wave S8500. Look-wise, there is not much change from the company’s previous model except that the new handset flaunts a larger display (3.7 inches, WVGA). Another notable change is unlike the original Wave’s 3.3-inch Super AMOLED display, this one includes Nuance’s T9 Trace input method that allows a user to glide a finger or stylus from one letter to the next on a Qwerty or 12-key touchscreen keypad. This may, however, have something to do with the shortage of AMOLED displays. The handset comes with a price tag of €429 euros ($588).
