Customize Your Blogger Blog’s Background With Your Own Image

In a bid to offer a more personalised blogging experience, Blogger, Google’s blog publishing tool, has introduced a new option to use image backgrounds for their blogs. While bloggers can still adjust templates, layouts, images as before, using the new ‘Background” feature in Blogger Template Designer, they can now upload their own images and use them as backgrounds. Google feels that this feature will particularly amuse photo buffs who would like to use their pictures as their blog’s background image.

The exercise does not seem complicated. Bloggers need to go to Design->Template Designer->Background, and then click on Background Image. An ‘upload image option’ will then be visible and using this option, images can be selected and uploaded to their blogs.

There are a variety of options such as alignment, repeat, and scroll that will allow a blogger to control the display of the new image. One can adjust horizontal (left, centre, right) and vertical (top and bottom) alignment of the background image. A ‘repeat’ option allows smaller images to form a tiled background. Finally, a ‘scroll’ option ensures the uploaded image stays in place while readers scroll the page contents.
