HP is reportedly all set to release an Android-based printer that will double as a mobile PC on the go. Named PhotoSmart eStation 510, the printer will be an inkjet that will come packed with a 7-inch detachable tablet that will be pre-loaded with Android 2.1 operating system as its touchscreen control component.

While information on the printer is sketchy at the moment, there is buzz that HP PhotoSmart eStation 510 will have Barnes and Noble’s Nook eBook online store as a dedicated eBook reader. Equipped with Wi-fi capability, the device will provide web and e-mail access and will come with customised apps to enable access and printing from Yahoo, Facebook and Snapfish.

Some reports citing the technical specifications claim the device will be able to print up to 33 ppm with maximum resolution of 600×600 (plain black) or 9600×2400 (colour). Expected to launch sometime next week, PhotoSmart eStation 510 will come with a price tag of $399.
