Skype has competition now. For, mobile communication service Fring has launched its latest fringOut solution aimed at enabling low-cost internet calling from mobile handsets. The emphasis is on selling the idea that you do not necessarily have to be tied to your PC when making an internet call. The solution is currently available for Nokia S60 (Symbian) devices and is expected to be launched on iPhone and Android devices soon.

The new solution comes with a rich video offering. Users can make international calls to any regular landlines or mobile phone worldwide with rates as low as 1¢ a minute. Meanwhile, Fring community members can continue to enjoy completely free voice and video calls, besides live chat and more with friends on Fring and other online services. The latest solution only extends the reach to phones now; and a user can call directly from the integrated Fring contact list at a rate that the company considers ‘almost-free’.
