Written By Sam on 26 May 2009

Have you deleted any important files by mistake from any removable device or hard drive, then DiskDigger will help you to recover those files. DiskDigger is a free file recover utility which is simple, easy to use and can recover files from USB flash drives and memory cards(MMC, SD, CompactFlash, Memory Stick etc). Along with Videos, photos, documents and music it can also recover most of the file.

Recently I deleted some images from my Nokia 5800 mobile and DiskDigger helped me to recover 90% of the images. DiskDigger can recover photo’s from a memory card when you had deleted them accidentally or purposefully(!). If you have come across an old hard drive of yours which has been reformatted, DiskDigger will retrieve the previous content for you.

DiskDigger can also scan badly formatted or reformatted disks. It can bypass the windows file system drivers and scans your disk directly. DiskDigger is portable and very compact. No installation is needed as it is just an executable file that you can run from anywhere.

DiskDigger has two modes of operation for scanning your deleted files. In the first one it Scan the file system for deleted files and supports FAT12, FAT16, FAT32, exFAT and NTFS file systems. Though it recovers all the file types and file names, it doesn’t support all the possible file systems. The second mode of operation scans the disk surface for traces of Lost Files. It scans the entire disk and is independent on the file system.

Features of DiskDigger

  • Scans for many different type of files like photos, movies, music files and documents.
  • DiskDigger allows you to preview most of the files without having them saved to a location first.
  • It can scan USB flash drives, memory cards and hard drive which are readable on your computer.
  • It can undelete files from all types of FAT partitions and NTFS.
